I’m Kurt, and I’m the founder of Jaylocks.

Jaylocks didn’t start as a business idea — it started as a pattern I kept seeing. I spent years working alongside businesses at different stages of growth, often stepping in once things were already moving. What stood out wasn’t a lack of ambition or commitment from people. It was that many businesses were trying to grow on foundations that were never quite right to begin with. By the time those cracks show, most owners are already busy running day to day operations. There’s rarely the time to step back, reassess earlier decisions, and rebuild properly — even when those decisions are quietly limiting progress. I saw good people firefighting problems that shouldn’t have existed, simply because no one had helped them slow things down early on. Jaylocks came from that moment of clarity. I wanted to build something that sits alongside business owners — not above them — and helps put order, structure, and intention back into the parts of the business that often get overlooked until they become painful.

The name Jaylocks is personal to me. It’s built from the initials of the people closest to my heart and serves as a quiet reminder of why I care about doing things properly. That meaning isn’t advertised loudly, but it influences how I work and the standards I hold myself to. Outside of work, I live in Lowestoft with my wife, our two daughters (11 and 9), and our cat Tyson (Pictured), who has strong opinions and absolutely no interest in deadlines. I enjoy rugby, Formula 1, woodworking, whittling, and DIY — anything that involves building, refining, or improving something over time. I’m drawn to work that rewards patience and thought rather than shortcuts.

Professionally, I assist businesses across a range of sectors, which has given me a clear view of how early decisions echo as a company grows. I’m analytical by nature, people-focused by choice, and grounded in what works in real life rather than theory. I don’t believe in generic solutions. Every business has its own rhythm, pressures, and personality. My role is to help identify where things no longer fit, untangle what’s become messy, and strengthen what’s already there — quietly, thoughtfully, and without unnecessary disruption.

Jaylocks is about moving businesses forward without constantly tripping over yesterday’s decisions.

If any of this feels familiar, and you think we’d work well together, I’m always happy to have a conversation.
